For this post I decided to combine the two major spring summer 2014 trends of blue denim and floral. For my first look wrapped my chiffon floral kimono into high waister pale denim shorts for a casual look that will be perfect for daytime in the summer or with tights in the spring for drinks with the girls. Switch the shorts for a pvc or plain black midi skirt and skyscraper heels for a super on trend evening outfit. The second look is more tailored and perfect for the office with bright blue court heels or for an interview with a cropped blazer instead of the cropped denim jacket. buttoning up a denim jacket with a tight midi skirt gives a flattering silhouette whilst having an upturned collar gives a nod to the 80s style that is back in fashion. My third outfit is, admittedly, more of a summer/warm weather/ outfit as the batwing blouse looks best without a jacket over the top but by swapping the blouse for a chiffon floral shirt and aviator jacket and tights the looks would be perfect for the daytime on a chilly spring day. If you find that skater skirts don't suit you as much as other shapes simply go for an a-line denim skirt and a cropped top for a flattering, fun outfit perfect for spring. The last look is very retro and the skirt is actually a vintage midi skirt altered to become a skater skirt that works well with this loose denim shirt. Similar to the 90s style the loose shirt pulled in at the waste and the shape of the skirt looks great on most shapes. This look is very casual but could be suitable for going out up by wearing a dairing crop top underneath with the denim shirt unbuttoned as a jacket and heeled boots.
Many designers have adopted this trend such as Paul&Joe, Etro, Dolce&Gabbana and Nina Ricci

Paul&Joe- casual shorts and shirt with smart blazer jacket

Paul&Joe- patchwork jeans with a contrasting, statement crisp white tee
Paul&Joe- sweeping side slit skirt with denim mac

Dolce and |Gabbana- 3d floral print
Etro- clashing floral prints and midi skirts
Nina Ricci- Silk two pieces with lace trims for elegance and sophistication

For the office add a jewelled necklace under the collar of the shirt to instantly add glamour

 3. Leather jacket look:
Maxi skirt- Primark, Belt- Primark, Aviator jacket- Topshop, Cami- New Look, Snood- primark.
Browns, greys and pastel pink together create a colour scheme to suit the cool weather and nature in winter

 4. Poncho and gold belt
Poncho- Urban Outfitters, Black- New Look, Belt- New Look, Clutch- New Look
Tribal prints are very on trend at the moment so for a super cosy chic look wear a poncho with a thick waist belt and fitted black or grey maxi skirt. Having a belt with gold detailing adds a touch of elegance to the casual outfit.

A hand held clutch with embellishments makes this outfit perfecr for after work drinks with heeled boots

In the winter months it can be easy to simply wear comfy, warm clothes everyday and layer your outfits to suit the weather. To keep your outftits femenine whilst still staying warm ditch the skater skirts and are legs and turn to your trusty summer maxi skirts. Many designers, such as Roberto Cavalli, and high street brands like Reiss have adopted this idea teaming sheer maxi skirts with black leather jackets and patterned blouses with fur skirts. Actress Jennifer Lawrence went or a bohemian look adding an oversized camo shirt with her maxi skirt for a casual daytime spring look whereas emily blunt looked chic in her black maxi with leather jacket and faux fur scarf.
