Velvet is one of the most luxurious yet comforting materials and can be worn in many different ways. For an evening out to dinner a fitted velvet gown speaks nothing but glamour. Velvet is perfect on a date as the fabric catches the light in a room in an eye catching and sensual way but in the colder/winter months velvet skirts and turtle neck crops are perfect for in the office or general day wear. Pair with a leather jacket to make it more casual or a blazer for work. Cara Delevigne shows a perfect example of how tailored velvet can be femenine and glam.
