Victorian Lace

Lace crop top- Ebay (Topshop originally)

The latest addition to the love for lace is the Victorian-inspired high neck lace top. These were commonly worn by upper class Victorian ladies as part of their dress and covered their arms and chest. As well as being girly and intricately pretty, lace tops add a twist to a modern skater dress or skirt. Work the clash trend by layering over patterned vests and dresses and team with knee high socks for a perfect flirty, feminine summer outfit

If, like me, you are dubious about attempting to wear leopard print and fear you would not be able to pull of a two piece bralet and knicker- shorts set like Kate moss does then a darker tone velvet skirt is perfect. Whilst still looking sexy and braving the animal print trend the skirt makes the outfit more casual and tones down the garish yellow print. Perfect for a picnic in the park in the summer or pair with heels and gold accesories for the evening

With fashionistas such as Kim Kardashian and Kate Middleton sporting velvet on the red carpet there was no doubt it would be a spring/summer'13 trend. The soft to touch fabric hugs figures but reflects the light to get a sexy, curve enhancing look. For a more daring twist team a brightly coloured velvet skater skirt with a clashing neon crop top and bold, gold accessories. To draw attention to a black velvet dress add a bright clutch or belt and statement heels.

Off the shoulder trend

Dress- Topshop sale £15

Off shoulder tops are a re-emerging trend this season and I welcome it with open arms!! Any excuse to dress up like Grease's Sandy is a good excuse in my eyes haha. I found this lace off shoulder dress in the Topshop sale and was overjoyed to find it as only £15! For a bold, statement look pair with block colour heels and a matching bling necklace or for a more feminine edge team it with pearls and court heels.

Black and Gold

High neck velvet crop top- £15 ASOS sale

Black and gold have always stolen the show at red carpet events and catwalk shows. From subtle sparkles with a gold chain necklace to full gold glitter ball gowns everyone is going for the black and gold look. For an attention grabbing club outfit wear a shimmering crop top with mini shorts and killer heels or dress it down and mix it up by layering with a block colour dress or skirt.

Festival Season

So summer is officially here and with it begin the festivals. I bought his crop top with tassels a couple of years ago when it was first on trend but have now altered it slightly to make it the perfect festival top. Simply by cutting vertical slits into the top to the height you want (works best with cotton/tshirts) you can create a super chic tee. For a further grunge twist cut the neckline, as I have here, to give the tee an unfinished look. I have worn it with block colour shorts, high waisted shorts and my rainbow motel jeans

Who says you can't be glamourous at festivals just because you're coated in mud?! Be daring with clashing patterns and colours as i have with the bright midi skirt with tassels and embroidered top. Fun yet comfy and great for if the weather cools down

Everything crop is in right now so dig out those bralets, they aren't just for the dancefloor! Dare to bare with mini shorts or for cooler days stick to jeans. These motel vertical stripe jeans are perfect for accentuating your assets whilst also giving a slimming illusion
And of course don't forget a pair, or four, of sunglasses in all shapes and sizes to make your outfit stand out even more
